How long will freshly baked vegan bread last if kept on the counter?
here is the recipe i used: 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread Ingredients : 2 3/4 cups of hot water 1/3 cup of oil, olive is fine 1/4 cup of raw sugar 2 tablespoons molasses 1 tablespoon salt, sea salt is good 7 1/2 cups (max) of 100% whole grain wheat flour 2 tablespoons of dry active yeast Directions: 1. Place the first five ingredients in the bowl and mix. 2. Add: 2 Cups 100% whole grain wheat flour. Mix, then add 2 tablespoons of dry active yeast. If your not sure about your yeast proof it in a little warm water first. 3. Add: 4 cups of 100% whole grain wheat flour. 4. Mix until the consistency is some what even. Then continue to slowly add flour 1/2 cup at a time until the dough quits sticking to the sides of the bowl. It should be tacky to the touch. The trick is to have enough consistency to stand up with the least amount of flour so the bread will be fluffy. In any case do not exceed 7 1/2 cups of wheat flour. You can trade one cup of wheat flour for one cup of all purpose white if you wish. Don't over mix or the bread will be tough. 5. When your dough is finished, Cover the bowl and let it rise for about 30-45 minutes. The dough will be larger but it doesn't need to double when using a heavy mixer. 6. Grease two bread pans with Crisco. You can also flour the pans to reduce sticking. 7. Mix again just enough to knock it down at least close to the original size. 8. Drop the dough on a floured surface so you can work the dough and shape it. Roll it in the flour and shape it in your hands to make a nice ball getting enough flour on it so it isn't sticky. Divide the ball in half and do it again. Shape the loaves by turning the dough under it's self over and over. When the dough is shaped right the sides and ends will be sealed and all you will see is a nice oblong shaped loaf with smooth sides and top. Drop the loaves in your bread pans and let them rise until almost doubled. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 for 36 minutes. If you forgot to preheat 41 minutes. (gas oven) 9. When done turn the bread out of the pan to a rack to cool. You can eat it right away. Don't wrap it until completely cooled. (Condensation will make it soggy) Put in tinfoil to store on the counter. If you put it in the refrigerator it will turn into a brick. Enjoy. Notes: If you like fluffy brown bread this it. No white flour here. You can use any 100% whole grain wheat flour. I mill my own. This bread is not heavy like most 100% whole wheat breads. If it is you used too much flour and your dough was too stiff. If it flattens out and won't stand up you need more flour. The total amount of flour is usually about 7 cups. This recipe has been in my family for years and we all make it. We make a lot more now that we have powerful mixers and the hand kneeding is bye bye. Serves: 12

this is a great recipe!! i love it... i found that the bread lasted like 9 days.

Good weight loss plan for overweight teen?
hey im 14, 5'4", i think i weigh about 220. so as you know im very overweight and need&want to lose weight. not only that, but my family suffers from heart disease and other stuff from obesity. i pretty much dont do anything active and my mom is always at work so there cant really be meals so i end up just over eating. and none of the stuff are healthy. i need a weight loss plan that will work and i can be able to lose weight not exactly "fast", but not so slow either. like losing 1-2 pounds every ten days? a bit faster please. i need some changes i can make into my food(white bread to wheat, whole milk to lowfat milk, etc.). and along with a not-so-strict exercising plan. Im doing a little thing, not exactly a diet, but im just watching what im eating over the past few weeks. basically ive been eating things that reuglarly dont have much fat and im eating smaller portions of it. this was my menu for one of these past days: breakfast: 1 bowl of special K cereal with one hard-boiled egg and a glass of OJ. lunch(4 hours later): 1 chicken sandwich with one handful of baked lays chips. snack(1-2 hours later): 2 small cups of 5 calorie jello dinner(2 hours later): whole grain pasta, with ceaser salad, followed by 1 cup of low fat frozen yogurt. 1 hour later i walk my dog for about 30 minutes. (remember i dont eat that everyday, that was just one day). i also take a fish oil pill, if that helps. and i drink 6-7 cups of water throughout the day.i dont drink soda anymore, not even diet soda. i drink juice along with my meals, the rest of the time i drink water. i eat wheat bread now, and lowfat milk, i have the lowfat yogurt once every 3 days. and other small changes like that. im also going to start walking 1 hour per day, and maybe some jumping jacks along with it. i am feeling less hungrier but i dont feel like im loosing weight. and im probably not. so i would like to know better changes i can make to my "diet" or maybe some other exercising routine i can do. Im really sorry for this being so long and unclear, but i dont really know how to explain this lol. please help me, i really need to lose weight. oh and if for some reason you want to email me about this, email me at fash12345@yahoo.com . any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

Hi, I can understand ur problem, but you need to get urself into some kinda of daily exercising routine along with Strict dietary regime. Eat as much raw veggys and fruits. Add Melons- muskmelon, watermelon, cucumber to your diet About exercises - join some kinda dance- salsa, merengue, aerobics or any sports like tennis, baddy etc Drink only 100 % juices as they dont have extra sugar added. Also for the time being turn to a vegetarian diet and avoid all non vegetarian foods including eggs here is a website which helps to decide your calorie requirement, help you plan your diet and also track it down. Just try it www.lifemojo.com

Do you seriously know about dogs health???
If so I have a question, I am Very worried to say the least. I have a 7yr old Boxer male,Who for the past year has been declining in weight.I am currently feeding him 7 cups per day, which is insane!Even Mastiffs dont eat that much and he is thin.He attacks the bowl like he is starving to death.Otherwise he is playful energetic and happy like he was when was a puppy but his appearance bothers me.Ive tried de-worming him, upgrading his diet to a more expensive and caloric brand and neither seemed to work.Im taking him to the vet tomorrow but am worried.this lady at the pet food store hinted maybe "God Forbid"! Cancer ??? Im not sure about the affects of cancer in dogs but could this be a sign??? or what else could his weight loss and constant apettite be attributed to??His stool appears to be normal no traces of blood or parrasites????

You will find a discussion of this problem, and the possibilities at the bottom of this page> http://www.vetinfo4dogs.com/dweight.html#Thin%20dog,%20not%20gaining from Dr. Mike, DVM>> Thiness would be caused by such things like heartworm disease, kidney or liver disease and whipworms if his stool was normal and things like digestive disorders if his stool is not normal.
